Whether a piece has a chip, a hairline crack, is broken into pieces or has a portion missing, great care is taken in perfectly matching the material, be it soft or hard paste (glossy, matte or bisque, etc.) We offer the option of three different levels of repair: the color, the decoration and the glaze. Cementing Pieces are thoroughly cleaned, and then great care is taken to cement each piece back together. Filling in and Touching up
After the pieces are cleaned and cemented back together. all missing chips are filled in, as are the missing chips, painted and glazed to the original finish. The damaged area(s) will be visible.
Invisible Repair
The pieces are cleaned and cemented as described above. The cracks are then ground down and filled in, as are the missing chips. The damaged area is then sealed, and the original color, decoration and glaze finish are applied. This level of repair is UNDETECTABLE to blacklight, to the naked eye and to the touch. |
