R.S. Germany Repair and Restoration

R.S. Germany is a mark used by the Reinhold Schegelmilch Porcelain Factory and Decorating Studios in Tillowitz from 1914 to 1945. Reinhold Schegelmilch and his two sons owned this factory, which began as R.S. Prussia in 1869, but after an official change in 1910, it started marking wares with R.S. Germany. R.S. Germany remained operational throughout the First World War but shut its doors permanently in January 1945 just before the final Russian advance on Berlin.

Nearly all R.S. Germany products were hand painted. When new technologies allowed R.S. Germany to produced multi-colored enamel decalcomania, their products started to feature very detailed scenes such as florals, portraits and landscapes. The most common wares made by R.S. Germany included toy tea sets, tableware and tete-a-tetes.

Numerous marks exist over the years, but they all tended to feature the initials “R” and “S”, and the word “Germany” within a wreath and topped with a star in blue or green.
